Vigil for Slain Las Vegas Tow Yard Employee
Hundreds gathered at a vigil held on Friday, January 14, for slain tow yard operator Jonet Dominguez, who was shot pointblank when he refused to release a rented car of a customer.
The shooter, Jaton Herder, fled the scene but was soon captured and arrested by a multi-jurisdictional task force. Herder will face charges of murder.
At the vigil, family, friends, co-workers along with a supportive tow community gathered to pray and light candles. A line of tow truck lights flashed toward the heavens parked along the street.
His wife Angela Dominguez said, “We just had a simple, very happy life… and it’s just gone now for nothing.” Dominguez left behind 10 children.
According to his wife, Jonet’s life revolved around two things: his family and his faith.
“He loved the lord. He lived his life for the lord. After that was his family,” Angela explained.
Co-worker Luis De La Cruz said Jonet was like a brother.
There is a GoFundMe set up for Jonet’s family.
