TRAA's 7th Annual Workshop Advances Towing Industry Advocacy
The Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) recently held its 7th Annual Legislative Action Workshop & Hill Day, which saw participation from over 27 states. The event was a significant success, with members advocating for key legislative issues, including the Preventing Roadside Deaths Act, electric vehicle (EV) policies, and weights and measures amendments crucial to the towing industry.
Throughout the day, TRAA members conducted 112 meetings with Members of Congress and their staffers, highlighting the industry's needs. Notable meetings included discussions with influential legislators such as Congresswoman Laura Gillen, Congressman Jared Golden, and Congressman Kevin Kiley, among others. These meetings focused on transportation and infrastructure, small business issues, and emergency management.
Additionally, members met with FMCSA Senior Advisor Adrienne Camire and Communications Director Matt Schuck to address the administration’s stance on EVs and roadway safety. Another key topic was Congressman Kiley’s Congressional Review Act (CRA) to pause state "Advanced Clean Trucks" regulations.
TRAA’s legislative efforts continue to make a meaningful impact on behalf of the towing industry, with more updates coming in future publications. Source: TRAA Newsletter
