TowXpo Sets Attendance, Wrecker Pageant Records
TowXpo returned to the Alamo City this past July and the show featured a record number of wrecker pageant trucks and an attendance that demonstrated why San Antonio was chosen as the show site.
Despite some serious weather issues that included flash flooding and tornadoes in some of the outskirt areas of San Antonio earlier in the week, total attendance surpassed last year's Fort Worth show, with 3,819 attendees walking the aisles during the two-day trade show, compared with 3,691 in Fort Worth in 2025.
Kicking off the events was the Masters of Chaos Awards Dinner. It saw a record turnout of more than 200 persons on hand to congratulate 12 towing companies who had demonstrated skill, professionalism and grit in dealing with massive pileups and serious highway incidents. They received the Masters of Chaos awards feting their efforts.
Special events featured the 10 Gallon Gala “Casino Night” which had a record turnout on Friday night of the show with games of chance resulting in prizes donated by exhibitors. It was a fun night for all. And, not missed was the “Big Smoke” annual cigar-smoking social that towers always enjoy.
On Saturday, a strong attendance of Tow Bosses kept exhibitors busy throughout the day as the show floor was an active business forum. The crowd loved the Saturday Pie hospitality, an American Towman tradition of expressing appreciation to all those who traveled to the show.
The show ended on a high note as a record-number of trucks were judged in the USA Wrecker Pageant. Thirty-eight trucks in all took part in the largest TowXpo pageant ever assembled.
“All in all, this was one of the best -– if not the best – TowXpo show we’ve ever produced. It is testimony to the towing industry to push aside inclement and hazardous weather that had serious ramifications for the areas affected, to take the time out of their hectic schedules to attend the show," said Henri “Doc” Calitri. “It is not an overstatement that they are to be praised for their dedication to this industry."
