Towman Hit While Working on I-24 in Chattanooga
Dashcam footage captured the moment a tow truck driver was struck by a vehicle while working on Interstate 24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Ben Moore of Doug Yates Towing & Recovery was on the shoulder near Westside Drive with his emergency lights flashing when a driver failed to move over, crossed the lane line and hit him, according to police.
Moore suffered serious injuries and underwent more than 10 hours of surgery to repair his right leg. Garrett Yates, a company spokesperson, said Moore is recovering and in good spirits but likely faces at least one more surgery.
“He's doing very good considering the circumstances,” Yates said.
Police cited the driver for violating Tennessee’s Move Over Law, failure to use due care and failure to maintain her lane.
Yates said the company regularly trains drivers on roadside safety, including the use of high-visibility vests and proper procedures when working near traffic.
Tennessee’s Move Over Law applies to tow trucks, emergency responders, highway maintenance, utility and solid waste vehicles.
