Redesign for Holmes DTU
Holmes recently introduced Generation II of its Detachable Towing Unit; 10 years since it was introduced, the DTU has been redesigned to decrease rear overhang by 10", increase front axle weight and improve towability. Its elevation cylinders were repositioned to provide an improved center of gravity and increase front axle weight. The cylinders also substantially increase the underlift and boom lift height capabilities, and the adjustable mounting bracket accommodates different fifth-wheel plate heights. The new design is standard with a 20,000-lbs. planetary winch, 175' of 9/16" wire rope and front legs that allow the unit to be removed in a matter of minutes so your truck can be multi-functional for both towing and pulling trailers. The DTU Gen. 2 is designed to secure to your truck using a front lock-down bracket and the fifth-wheel plate. Power is provided by an optional wet line kit, with quick connect couplers, which is installed on your truck. Other options include a 25,000-lbs. planetary winch, toolboxes and lanyard controls. Lift Capacity: Retracted, 35,000 lbs.; Extended, 16,000 lbs. Reach Past Tailboard: Fully retracted, 51"; Fully extended, 113". www.millerind.com
