Pot o' Gold in Pittsburgh
Some trucks just look great on the outside and are worthy of our admiration, whether we discover them by accident, seek them out on our own or find them sitting under a colored rainbow.Such is the case with two hot, sleek-looking 2013 Dodge 5500s that recently joined the fleet of Elite Towing and Recovery, an up-and-coming business based out of Pittsburgh, Pa., with more than 10 years experience working the area’s roadways. Both light-duty Dodges feature Jerr-Dan on the working end; one a wrecker, the other a rollback.“We switched up part of our fleet to Dodges,” said Dave O’Dell, manager. “We like the work duty, performance and look. They are outstanding trucks.”O’Dell said they’ve been getting many positive comments about the custom-made graphics on their trucks, created by Flinner Signs and Decals. Although straightforward in terms of illuminating the company name, the graphics’ special appeal is in their “coolness.”The chrome/silver filling within the lettering on the side of the truck and the reddish tint within the lettering on the back crates a sizzling effect, making it a first-place winner on a recent cyber contest by Respect Tow Truck Operators, whose Facebook page raises awareness about the Move Over laws.Other graphics on the truck include a shamrock, denoting the Irish roots of the company and their clever slogan, “We Meet by Accident.”“There’s a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow,” said O’Dell, referring to one pic he got of their new flatbed under a rainbow.
