Man Arrested for Shooting Tower in Indiana
The man who shot a tower on March 25 off of Interstate 70 in Plainfield, Indiana, was arrested on multiple counts, including attempted murder, aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent. The suspect, Joseph L. Jackson, is being held in a County Jail.
According to Indiana State Police, Curtis Wrecker Service was called to assist a man with a flat tire and tower, Matthew Roberts responded. As he was changing the tire, he was shot five times. Jackson fled the scene in the tow truck, taking his 4 year old son with him while the tower was left in critical condition.
The man was later apprehended and taken into custody.
Bart Giesler, who is the Executive Director of the Indiana Towing & Wrecker Association, said, “I’m not aware of anyone giving specific training for a tragedy like this. Like any service, it’s the last thing anyone would think about if you were going to help them.”
