Guardian Fleet Services Acquires Texas Auto Carriers

Guardian Fleet Services, a leader in towing, recovery, and specialized transportation, has announced its acquisition of Texas Auto Carriers (TAC), along with affiliated brands Ironcat, LLC, and Wheelcat Logistics, LLC. Based in San Antonio, TAC brings over four decades of expertise in light and heavy-duty towing, recovery, heavy hauling, and auto transport. The acquisition enhances Guardian’s presence in Southern Texas and expands its service offerings.

Founded in 1984 by Ford Wagner and his father, TAC has earned a stellar reputation under the leadership of Ford and LouAnn Wagner, who co-own the company. LouAnn, a prominent figure in the towing and trucking industries, has served on multiple boards and led initiatives through the National Association of Women Business Owners. Ford has been instrumental in advancing industry standards through training programs and his tenure on the Texas Towing and Storage Association board.

Guardian COO Tom Tedford praised TAC’s commitment to customer service, safety, and innovation. The Wagners will remain involved during the transition before assuming advisory roles. “Guardian’s support will enhance our capabilities,” said LouAnn Wagner.
