CHP Impounds Tow Truck After Finding Multiple Violations
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) impounded a tow truck in the Golden Gate area after discovering several serious violations during a recent enforcement stop.
According to an Aug. 10 social media post from CHP’s Golden Gate Division, the truck was found to be operating overweight and without valid insurance. Troopers also determined that the vehicle’s operating authority had been suspended for several years.
The tow truck was impounded as a result of the violations.
CHP said the enforcement action reflects its ongoing efforts to identify unsafe and noncompliant commercial vehicles and hold operators accountable.
“Commercial vehicle regulations exist to ensure companies and drivers operate safely and responsibly,” CHP said in the post. The agency added that its Commercial Operations Unit remains committed to removing unsafe commercial vehicles from the roadway and promoting safety for motorists and commercial operators.
