Bigler Boyz Towing & Recovery has been honored with the 2024 Donnie Cruse Memorial Award for excellence in heavy-duty recovery, presented by WreckMaster Inc., the towing and recovery industry’s leading accredited training institution. The award, named after WreckMaster founder Donnie Cruse, is given annually at the American Towman Exposition in Baltimore, Md. to a single towing company worldwide. Cruse, a pioneer in towing training and certification, was tragically killed in 2002 alongside his family in Canada.

Bigler Boyz Towing & Recovery received the award on Nov. 21 for their exceptional recovery work on U.S. Route 322 in Philipsburg in February 2024. The incident involved a tractor with a tanker trailer loaded with crude glycerin that rolled multiple times down a mountainside. Bigler Boyz assisted fire departments with the driver’s extrication, recovered the tractor and tanker, secured the cargo, and restored the property damage. WreckMaster lead instructor Casey Burrows praised their professionalism and expert skill in handling the complex recovery.

With 35 full-time employees and locations in Kylertown, Woodland, Clearfield, and DuBois, Bigler Boyz provides towing, recovery, and roadside services to police departments, 911 centers, the public, and commercial trucking companies. The company credits their employees, families, and emergency services for this achievement and reminds the public to slow down and move over for first responders and disabled vehicles.
